Thanksgiving Pictures

The pictures are all mixed up. We had Thanksgiving at the Booth's house while they were out of town. It was fun having both our families over for a meal. Enoch did really well and didn't mind being passed around. I don't have the time to write. If you have a questiom, please leave a comment. Thanks!

Halloween 2009

It was another year at the Staples for a Halloween party. Amazingly, Halloween keeps falling on the weekend since we've been married. Anyway, this video shows the infamous "Eat a Donut on a String Quickly" game. I had never played before. It was fun because they were pumpkin donuts--and not powdered donuts. Smart planning hosts.

You may notice a man who was unfortunately stuck right next to the camera. That's Trevor! Enjoy!!! (I set the camera on the top of the Staples refrigerator.)

In other halloween news, we had dinner with the Martinsens the Friday before Halloween--and enjoyed their thin tasty egg-free lasanga. (There kiddo has allergies.) It was nice to catch up. And--I have noticed that with Enoch, I cling to his routine schedule and fear messing with his sleeping schedule. Luckily, the Martinsen's have similar sleep goals and we left at a respectable hour--almost 8 pm. I guess we're not the party animals everyone used to know us for anymore. Or--am I kidding myself? Yeah, I think we could stay up late---but never were the best "partiers." We love having Enoch. He helps us to WANT sleep. (In fact, with daylight savings--he's been going to bed an hour or so early, and I've been teaching him to keep sleeping until 7 am.) And its a 50/50 chance he'll sleep through the night. And now for the big Enoch news, yesterday his first tooth broke through his bottom front gums! We're so excited for him! He's on his way to the possiblities that only chewing can bring! (Like Indian food!!!)

Four Month Check-Up

Four fun months after the early induction of our tiny babe for insurance reasons, we are proud to say he is alive and well! He had his 4 month check-up on the 29th (Thursday) and he was doing great!
STATS
(just think if these determined future grades!)
18 pounds = 95th % of other kids his age
26 inches long = 90th % of other kids his age
He did have a small mummer in his heart---which sounds concerning, but the doctor figures its benign and that he will grow out of it. There would be a concern if he was having trouble eating---which he is not. (Hence the healthy 95th percentage!) They'll follow up on it at his 6th month check-up.We'll tell you how that goes. Life is good here in the Weldon home--and we're looking forward to having our family and friends up for Thanksgiving this year!

New things...

Let's start with the cutest thing... today, Enoch wore his new "Halloween Costume" to church today. He was a Newsie and he will be one again next Sunday too. (And for Halloween)
(Baby's R Us was out of Monkey costumes yesterday--so, we bought dress clothes...that were dapper and could be multi-purposed. This morning, Shaun and I tried to teach Enoch about sleeping in. It actually worked.
Saturday morning, we started it with playing on the floor in the "Baby Gym"--pumping Iron.

Look what Enoch can do now. (Until he gets tired.) We're so EXCITED!!! He's not rolling yet...but suspect that's next.
We got a new highchair this month. Now we're ready for solids...whenever we start that up. (Not yet.) Hey, we checked Enoch's mouth today--and we can feel a bottom front tooth VERY close to the surface. We think it should pop up anytime!

He's a happy little boy!
Then about 3 weeks ago, Shaun was cleaning and pulling out some fall squash from the Booth garden. Fall colors are so pretty!
Here's the pumpkin that grew up in a "bad" enviornment. It wasn't his fault that his vine wandered into the compose bin--made of pallets. He basically was doomed from the start. Happy Halloween pumpkin.

I can't believe its Fall!

I cannot believe the fall like weather we've been having! It's snuck up on me. It seems like since I had Enoch in the Summer--it should remain summer--since it obviously hasn't been that long since he joined our family. BUT--it's been 3 and a half months! So, I am facing the fact that he will be a year old in no time! Wow. Shaun and I were thinking about family planning this morning on our drive back from the Bagelry (for breakfast). We thought about when we thought we should be getting pregnant again and when Shaun would be graduating etc...and it seems all too fast! 18 months --2 years is not much at all. We are now on a family path and we are going to be on it a LONG time. We LOVE Enoch so much and are amazed that we are loving him more and more each day. Time has taught me that I have very little perspective on things...and that even though we THOUGHT we loved him as much as we could when he was born--we couldn't imagine the amount of love that would come pouring into our hearts. My capacity to love has increased and I am so attached to Enoch! God has such a big plan for parents. (As he does with everyone whether they can have kiddos or not.) He has all the opportunities to make us better at loving like Him by serving a child with diligence and patience. I will again say, it is a miracle to feel so happy and overwhelmed with affection for my son and husband. I love being a mother and am having lots of fun too!
(Ooops how did this bacon topped maple bar picture get in here?!)

WE LOVE ENOCH!

We are a Happy Family!...

Enoch is getting bigger everyday. We can hardly believe how much!
He's a lot bigger than other babies who are older than him. He's 16 lbs on our scale...
Here's a picture that we took on our 3 year anniversary(9-9-09)! (So, down to earth at the end of the day!)
And if you can believe it, this is a video of Enoch laughing!!

Back in the Swing

So, since my last post, I went back to work! I'm a working mom with a great childcare provider (thanks Cheryl) and have a baby who's on a regular sleep schedule! Enoch is asleep by 9 pm every night...and wakes up only once, usually 2 am, and then is asleep until morning when we need to get him up to go to his sitter's house (7 am-ish). I feel very efficient now...and love the schedule. I'm not tired anymore and find I get a lot done. Enoch has been very happy at his sitter's house and has already made good friends with Noah and Hannah, my sitter's kiddos.

Enoch will be 11 weeks old tomorrow and we can hardly believe it. He had his 2 month check up 2 weeks ago...and he was:
13 lb 14oz (90%) and
24 inches (88%) long.
He's a sweetheart---and adorable! He's pretty good at holding up his own head and likes to practice standing while holding mommy and daddy's thumbs. He likes to sit up and look around as well. He seems to know how to wave hello. When we or a friend wave and say "hi," his lifts up one of his arms partway and barley moves his fingers. Of course, we think he's genius!

In other news, Shaun and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary on September 9th. Shaun is STILL a FANTASTIC human being, husband, and loyal friend of mine! We've never yelled at each other....we've never lied to each other...and we say sorry ASAP if one of us snaps at the other after a cranky day---or if we (I) are hungry. I love love love my Shaun. We were very happy to welcome Enoch into our lives this year and delighted to hang with him on our anniversary.
In present day, Shaun and I went to Mt. Baker to baby-hike. It was our first time there and we totally can't wait to go back and do more serious hiking (with a baby backpack). Enoch needs to be a bit bigger to fit in one of those (and have COMPLETE head control). Afterwards, we decided to make an impromptu trip to Babys R Us in Lynnwood (to buy more burp clothes) and say hi to Shaun's family before heading over to Quoba for dinner (one of our fav chain restaurants that B'ham does not have) and home to Bellingham...in time for Enoch to have his regularly scheduled bath at 8pm. We love our lives!

Oh, and happy birthday Sophie Booth (11)...we look forward to having dinner with you tonight!! Your a darling young lady!

Picnic

Yesterday, Enoch and I surprised Shaun when he came home from work...with a picnic! We went to Cornwall Park and enjoyed a nice dinner in the shade. It was Enoch's FIRST picnic.
By the way, Enoch's getting better at trying to use his hands to put his pacifier in his mouth. It's adorable to watch..and we cheer when he succeeds. (He doesn't even cry over this kind of thing!)

If You've seen Star Wars...You Should Enjoy This.

So, I finally got sick after a year of health. I have a soar throat and head cold. But, I'm enjoying my medication, as I couldn't take helpful medication (like DayQuil) when I was pregnant. To pass the time, I decided to see if I could find a video on the web of a movie I watched at my friend's house when I was in high school. I FOUND IT! It's an independent film called, George Lucas in Love. I showed Shaun and now I'd like to share it with you. Enjoy!
If you can't get this video to work, click here for the link.

Bellingham Beauty

For all of you who don't live in Bellingham, here's some pictures of it's beauty! We all love living here. We get to live on the water without the traffic of Seattle. Vancouver, BC in just north of us--and is full of excellent cuisine and international excitement. (Sigh....)
